Laura was amazing!! She truly made our stay and we fantastic. Polite, thoughtful and really inclusive. The room was huge, very clean and we had a great night's sleep. Food (dinner and breakfast) was lovely. Lots of choice and the restaurant area was a nice location. We loved our stay and look forward to coming back soon! (We won't leave it 15 years this time ....)

Nice place and rooms. Although we were late arrivals which we told them about and they closed the bar 15 minutes early and would not allow us to buy a drink as they were cashing up and would not consider serving us and adding it to our room. Then at breakfast there were no plant based milks or yoghurts available.

Very cosy room, modern furnishings and very clean. The bathroom looked a little tired in the decor, but was clean. Bed was large and comfortable, and very warm. The room (no 1) was, I think, above the bar and seemed to be noisy especially after closing time when the staff were clearing up, this seemed to go on for a while. Breakfast was OK, had to wait a while as there was only one member serving but was very good value for the price and good selection of continental as well as cooked breakfast.

Very acceptable accommodation for the price. Cheaper to book direct with the Marston's website. The pub had loads of character with parking available at no extra cost.

Our initial aim of the day was to climb Glastonbury Tor but every parking area was absolutely full. We gave up and on our way back home we went through Street and saw the Bear Inn and thought we would have a midday meal. Having overcome the Pay As You Go parking in their car park and not being allowed to use the side entrance forcing us to walk all around to the front entrance passing repeated signs reminding us to pay for the parking. Inside was very well presented with internal and external patio and garden tables to eat. We ordered our drinks and meals for 4 people and ate outside within the patio area. The food was extremely well cooked and very tasty, even yummy. The drinks we all good including the House wine. Bottom line the service was very good, the food came promptly and everything was well priced for such a nice ambient experience. Well done the Bear Inn. No photos because the food went down so quickly. A very pleasant experience,

A convenient place to socialise; good food & staff but can be busy with long wait for food. 1 of my party had a complaint about a Lamb dish, which was immediately changed. Parking in attached car park OK, BUT read the signs carefully. Notorious for the number of penalty notices issued. Right opposite is the Clarkes Village shopping centre, which has its own car park 10 minute walk to the Bear.
